    • From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Harvest Fair in the Newton Centre Green. Amusement rides and food vendors.
    • at 8:00 p.m.: Newton's Highland Jazz opens its 2004-2005 season with the Paul Broadnax Quintet: "Just Us Friends", a concert celebrating the music of jazz legends including Nat King Cole and Joe Williams. The performance takes place at Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Ave. in Needham. Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for students. For more information, call (781) 237-1917.
