Tuesday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m.: Meeting of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge at the Emerson School, Pettee Street, Newton Upper Falls.
Saturday, October 15, 11 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m: Harvest Fair at the Newton Centre Green. The Newton Civic Pride committee provides more information.
Sunday, October 16, 11 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m: Harvest Fair at the Newton Centre Green
Saturday, October 22, at 10:30 a.m.: Annual Fall Cleanup of Hemlock Gorge. Volunteers should meet at Hamilton Place between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m. Parking available at Hamilton Place, off Elliot St., with additional parking at the Mills Falls parking lot. Materials and tools will be supplied, and refreshments provided for all volunteers after the clean-upp! Please dress appropriately for the work and weather (rain or shine).

Wednesday, October 16, at 6:45 p.m.: Meeting of the Temple Emanuel Networking Group.
"Cover Letters That Get You in the Door" Tom Burke is a professional write and a public relations specialist. He is going to give us the nuts and bolts and the conceptual overview of writing cover letters.
Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
Saturday, October 29, 9:00 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m.: Halloween Window Painting. An annual event for kids in grades 3-8. For details, see the information on the Newton Community Pride website.
