- 11 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m: Harvest Fair at the Newton Centre Green
- At 1:00 p.m.: "Big Feat" 5K Memorial Walk to benefit Circle of Caring at Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Starts at the Newton Centre Green. More information at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd web site.
Tuesday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m.: Meeting of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge at the Emerson School, Pettee Street, Newton Upper Falls.
Wednesday, October 14, at 6:45 p.m.: Meeting of the Temple Emanuel Networking Group. Scott Wittlin, an attorney and CPA with Sassoon & Cymrot LLP, will address Legal and Tax Issues for Business Start-ups. Mr. Wittlin advises and assists businesses on a wide range of legal and tax issues facing small businesses.
Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
Saturday, October 24, 9:00 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m.: Halloween Window Painting. An annual event for kids in grades 3-8. For details, see the information on the Newton Pride website.
