  • Wednesday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m.: Meeting of the Temple Emanuel Networking Group. This month's speaker is Bob Rosenberg, a business and corporate development and strategic management expert: "You, too, Can Start a Business".
    Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
  • Saturday, October 13: Harvest Fair at the Newton Centre Green. Further information is provided by the City in the form of a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) Flyer
  • Sunday, October 14: Harvest Fair at the Newton Centre Green
  • Saturday, October 20, 10:00 a.m. -- 12:00 Noon: Hemlock Gorge Reservation Annual Fall Clean-Up. Meet between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the parking lot of Hamilton Place, Needham entrance (off Central Ave, Needham or off Elliot St, Newton). More details at the Friends of Hemlock Gorge website.
  • October 13 -- October 31 : Pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, as well as fall and holiday decorations, will be on sale at the United Parish in Auburndale (UPA). The pumpkins were grown on a Navajo Indian reservation in Arizona with proceeds benefiting UPA.
    United Parish in Auburndale is located at the corner of Woodland Road and Grove Street in Auburndale. Sale hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays.
  • Saturday, October 27, 9:00 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m.: Halloween Window Painting. An annual event for kids in grades 3-8. For details, see the information on the Newton Pride website.
