  • Tuesday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m.: meeting of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge at the Emerson School, Pettee Street, Newton Upper Falls.
  • Thursday, December 3, a 4:30 p.m.: Holiday Lighting Ceremony. At Newton City Hall. Storytelling with Mayor Cohen, music with David Polansky. Free refreshments.
  • Tuesday, December 8, 7:00 a.m. -- 8:00 p.m.: Special State Primary for U.S. Senate.
    You can find out what your ward and precinct are, and where your polling place is by going to the City of Newton's "Where Do I Vote" page.
  • Wednesday, December 9, at 6:45 p.m.: Meeting of the Temple Emanuel Networking Group.
    Eric P. Bloom will speak about the "The Dual Track of Job Search and Entrepreneurship." You can enhance your job search by taking steps toward starting your own company in your area of expertise. Entrepreneurship can provide you with new insights, new business contacts, enhanced credentials, and maybe even your own company.
    Temple Emanuel is at 385 Ward Street, Newton. The building is handicap accessible and there is on-street parking. Free and open to the public.
  • Sunday, December 27, 1:30 p.m. -- 3:30 p.m.: Mayor's New Year's Open House at Newton City Hall. Free. Entertainment, face painting, refreshments.
