  • Tuesday, August 2, at 5:00 p.m.: Annual Summer Picnic of the Friends of Hemlock Gorge. At Hamilton Place. Details and maps are at the Friend's web site. Bring your own food and chairs; a grille and table will be provided. This will be a special picnic event at which The Hemlock Gorge Boys, a local bluegrass band, will perform.
  • Wednesday, August 3, at 6:45 p.m: Totem Pole Orchestra With Bob Bachelder. Big band sounds of the 30 s and 40 s from the orchestra made famous at Norumbega Park. At Pellegrini Park: Hawthorne Street off Watertown Street in Nontantum
    (Rain date: August 4)
    Part of the Dancing in the Parks series.
  • Wednesday, August 10, at 6:45 p.m: John Burrows and the Cocabanana Band. Enter the world of acoustic based, Caribbean spiced music compared to Jimmy Buffet and Gordon Lightfoot. At West Newton Common.
     
    West Newton Common is at Webster & Elm Sts. Take Washington St. West from W. Newton Square. Turn right onto Elm Rd.
